The dance. The punteo is of point of side to rate of vals. It consists of 16 compasses distributed in two parts. First it is rested and solemn; second it is itched but it maintains the rate of vals. This perfectly fits it in the romantic sort. The dance finishes in risto. Until the second decade of the present century, the pairs met in the seat, but later pasacalles by the old helmet was gotten up, following the pasodoble rate that interprets the orchestra (song). When one enters the seat, one skips to the way of galope; the raised arms, follow the movement of the body. The girl, by influence of the dance bodies (esbarts), takes a small white handkerchief that volea rythmically.
Once finalized the return, it is formed a circle and the pairs rest awhile to recover and to give time to the musicians to that they settle upon a platform with chairs. With the first agreed one, the pairs occur the hands in position of galope. To the second agreed small one it ahead passes the dancer his, except the greater padrino, than " majorala " heads the group of people with his. To the third agreed girls the hands occur and opens the padrino. They form then a snail that is narrowed until it undoes it second dancer.
While, the companions happen clearing the pair that is in head, and when they have already returned in front of his bailarin, the mayores padrinos initiate the dance formally. The dance by pairs begins then. Each dance consists of four parts:

Before following with the careful explanation of Elvira Farràs, we want that you see the distribution and movements that come indicated in the book "the Risto", published by Altafulla, in 1987, under the title "Catalan Dances that still are danced" with the supervision of the "Sac de Danses". Of the points of Baile Cerdà says that they are of: " Level of side " and "Risto". The book also speaks to us of the movement of the dancers and is one recopilatorio of the dances most popular, and still alive, of Catalunya.

THE DANCE BY PAIRS BEGINS
Each dance consists of four parts:
1a.- 8 compasses. The boy leaves the group of people and leads his pair towards the center of the seat. Giving the right hand to the girl and with the raised arms, they advance, doing point of perdiz while they balance the body towards the right. This way they make a quarter of circle and they finish in risto.
2a.- 8 compasses. Without moving of the center the hands are left. The small one passes the hands behind the back and the girl just a little bit rises the skirt with the two hands, and faced they make a quarter of circle. The girl follows the boy, who dances behind, and he is ended a return that she does.
3á.- 8 compasses. The rate is accelerated. The boy persecutes the girl while they make a quarter of circle, against schedule. When this part finishes, the small tour on if same.
4a.- 8 compasses. The boy remains in the place that occupied at the end of the last sequence. He gives the hand to the girl and he makes give a whole return him forming a circumference. They finish Finally in risto, taken from the arm, return to the group of people and thus, successively, they dance all the pairs. The dance, but, does not finish here. The girls are going to look for greater marrying, by general norm to the father or the grandfathers. They offer the barretina to them (helmets typical in Catalonia) and dance together the Ball cerdà, generally twice followed. At this moment the dance loses the ceremonious air that it had until then, but wins in affection. The dancers keep the forms, but their pairs do what they can. The years do not pardon!
